Departing Columbia

Okay everyone, I told you that i would keep you posted of my travels. I did not realize that would include sitting in the Columbia Airport (CAE) waiting... Yeah, you guessed it, I missed my flight to Laguardia (LGA). So now I will be heading to Cincinnati (CVG), then to LGA, hoping a NY cabbie can transport me through Manhattan onto Newark (NWK) wear I will then board a plane, bound for Edinburgh, Scotland UK (EDI).
They say that everything happens for a reason. I may not understand that reason, but it happened regardless, so... for now all I can do is sit, and... wait, just like the other 4 people who missed there flight.
Are you still reading this? Good. Now I will give you the full story about why I was late getting to the airport, for my first international business trip.
The alarm sounded @ 5:38 this morning, same as it does every morning. I awoke, tired, yet excited to get the show on the road. I had never been to NY and thought that today was the day when I was going to be able to capture my Grand Central shot, my Times Square shot, and my Hot Dog Vendor Shot. As a matter of fact, I planned on taking pictures from the second I arrived till the minute I departed. Quickly showered and got dressed, woke my wife up and she did the same, we left the house about 10 minutes late, not too bad, with only a short drive to the airport, it shouldn't be a problem (foreshadow). On the way my wife reminded me to fill her tank up, she is headed to Middleburg (FL) to close on our house and spend some time with the family. We stopped, I filled the tank, we then set out to get some breakfast. Stopping by the ATM before heading to McDonald's we were encouraged, the line was short. We quickly ordered, and then pulled around, paid and things were looking good. Then the wait (not the Built To Spill song) it seemed like we waited in line one car back from the window for about 17 minutes. Well, as you can tell... we were now 27 minutes late. On the way, I wooffed my sausage biscuit, and was needing to finish my hash brown, so I asked my wife take a lap, so I could finish it real quick. I don't know what I was thinking. So now as you know, if my hints didn't spell, I was late to check in. Which then lead me to the assistance phone wear I waited. As I was on the phone, the Delta employees began asking, is anyone hear headed to Laguardia. This invoked a mass frenzy and people began to come out from everywhere. I watched someone get out of a car and get on the flight before I did, just because I was on the phone re-booking my flight. (Thanks to the guy, behind the counter, for advising me, yet not helping me, my photograph collection will forever be indebted to you).
Are you still with me? Great! Sorry about that last part, I just needed to get it off my chest, hopefully now I won't be telling everyone I sit next to my stupid a** story. As far as everything else, I will be setting up a real time web album collecting the pictures from my trip. I will be blogging once a day and will select my favorite picture from that day to incorporate into the blog, much like I did above. Talk to you soon!
